MN 5 in both directions: Road construction.
between MN 22 (Gaylord) and Sibley County Road 34 (Arlington). Road construction work is in progress. Bridge construction work is in progress. A detour is in operation. Short delays are possible. A lane is closed intermittently. Look out for flaggers. See map for detour(s). Width limit 12’0″. Until July 2.
MnDOT Comment: Mill and Overlay, Approach panels, ADA Imp. and Bridge 9246. Detour for part of the construction is TH 19 to CSAH 13. Drive careful and watch out for workers in the work zone

Gaylord Wants Your Feedback on Historic Preservation Plan
In an effort to preserve and bolster Gaylord’s historic downtown, the City of Gaylord and its consultant, Smith & Main, are starting the process of completing the City’s first Historic Preservation Plan. The Preservation Plan will outline Gaylord’s goals for its historic properties and the actions it will take to reach those goals. The Historic Preservation Plan will be developed through public feedback solicited through three Open House meetings over the next five months.
The first Open House will be on Wednesday, May 22, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the City Library, located at 428 Main Ave. Come anytime during the Open House hours and ask questions of the consultant, city staff or the Preservation Plan Task Force members. Refreshments and a kid play area will be provided.
While the Preservation Plan is being prepared in conjunction with Gaylord’s Downtown Master Plan, the Preservation Plan will be a subsection of the overall Downtown Master Plan. The Historic Preservation Plan focuses on the individual buildings while the Downtown Master Plan is larger in scope and will create an overall vision for Gaylord’s downtown.
Funding for the Historic Preservation Plan was through a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant that the City received from the Minnesota Historical Society. Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants are made possible by the Minnesota Legislature from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund created with passage of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment to the Minnesota Constitution in November 2008. The grants are awarded to support projects of enduring value for the cause of history and historic preservation across the state.
