The Economic Development Authority (EDA) advises the city council regarding economic development, housing, and redevelopment matters, and exercises certain powers as authorized by the council.

The EDA Board is comprised of five commissioners, appointed by the Mayor with approval of the City Council, serving staggered six-year terms of office. Two commissioners must be members of the Gaylord City Council. Members shall either reside, own property, or be employed within the municipality of Gaylord.
Regular Meetings: The EDA meets every second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
Annual Meetings: The annual EDA meeting is held the second Wednesday of January at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall.
